Ta-Da....

I did a bad thing.  I forgot to take before pictures of the kitchen.

I had this picture from a while ago, when we got the knobs and pulls, and we were just in the dreaming stage of painting the cupboards.

Island: before
{notice the wood trim and vinyl floor too}

Island: after
{with white trim and new wood floor}

Here are a couple of other views of our spiffy re-do.

Eric and I are so happy with how it turned out.  It feels bright and fresh.

It feels like a farmhouse.

It feels like a beach house.

Both we love.  {Maybe someday we'll retire and have a little farm by the sea.}

A side benefit from all this, was the cleaning and purging that happened too.  Purging of stuff that just slips into the abyss in the back of the cupboard.  Stuff you forget you have, that you never use, that you don't even miss because you just use the things that are your favorites anyway.
Ahh - fresh, clean, simple.  so refreshing!  so freeing!

So we have a bit of a reprieve until the stair noses arrive.  The stairs are the last bit to re-floor.  There is a small amount of trim that we will paint too.
I'm a little nervous about having uncarpeted stairs.  I know it will look great, but hopefully we will adjust with minimal bruising.  ;-)

  2. The hard work was worth it. I really love how it makes our house look larger than it is.
