The Great Debate...

Waffles or pancakes?

Which one are you?

  1. Pancakes are yucky. I like waffles much, much better. ;)

  2. Both are so good I don't think we should be forced to choose :-) But, I make waffles much more often than pancakes.

However, this is a great recipe for waffles if you haven't tried it:http://www.suegregg.com/recipes/breakfasts/blenderbatterwaffles/blenderbatterwafflesA.htm

I also make a double batch of sourdough waffles weekly and freeze extras for easy breakfasts.
Mmmm pass the butter and syrup!

    1. That's the same recipe I use! ... But, I use goat milk (when we have it), coconut oil, and fresh ground Kamut flour. I don't put it in the blender though, just mix it up in the bowl and go.

    2. I use half oats and kamut and either diluted raw kefir or sour raw milk. Would love to have some of your goat milk though!

    3. I used to do half Kamut and half oats, but I got lazy. (Actually, I think I ran out of oat groats and never reordered from Azure.)I always organic oats on hand, but it's simpler to grind both grains than to have to put oats in the blender to make flour. Of course if I used the blender batter method this issue is probably mute. (Click - the light went on) Keifer or sour milk is perfect. Do you let your batter soak overnight? That's optimal, but of course, you probably already know that. ;-)
Do you have Sue Gregg's cookbooks? I have learned so much from them over the years.

    4. Yes, I let it sit overnight. I put the whole grains & liquids in as Sue instructs, and my blender does the grinding work. :-) I don't have any Sue Gregg cookbooks, but over the years I've gotten some of her recipes. :-)

  3. Hmm, that is a hard choice, but I think I will have to go with...
    Both!!! :D
'Cause, when I do eat them, they both taste equally as good! ;D
(Since, *DUH* it is the same batter! ;D)

  4. I have to admit that I like pancakes better. =) putting the taste aside, have you ever compared the time it takes eat a waffle to the time it takes to eat a pancake? And the amount of syrup that goes every where? Pancakes win, they're faster and neater. And.... I'm a neat eater, what else can't say?
