Dan and the ants

Sounds like a rock group (there used to be Adam and the Ants, I wonder if they are still around?) As a Christmas gift from our sweet Aunt Barbara, Daniel was given an ant farm. Of course, in December in Washington there are no ants so he's had to wait until now, even though our weather feels like it is February, to find and collect them. Did you know that once you collect them into the jar you actually put them in the refrigerator? This is so that they go to sleep and you can place them into the farm. I for one was not thrilled about ants sleeping in my frig, but....all is well. All the ants have been placed in their new home. Dan has named the two that are crawling around. They are Mr. Fuzzy and Mr. Red. The rest are all inside a small lettuce leaf.

They really are amazing creatures to watch. I am thankful for the real life object lesson.

"Go to the ant, O sluggard, observe her ways and be wise, which having no chief, officer or ruler, prepares her food in the summer and gathers her provisions in the harvest." (Proverbs 6:6-8)

  1. HI ALL;
    I hope ypu had a great Thanksgiving. Ours was quiet except for Gene, Karen,Jamie & Kellie oh yes Chris also stopped by. Karen the girls and I played scrabble, that was great. The week before I played with Ana, Peter & Paul. I didn't play very well either time but it sure was good to play.
    Willie is napping so I came upstairs to check my e-mail. Don't get much because I don't send much but I thought I'd check your blog to see if anything new was added.
    I can't tell you things are getting better here but we are keeping up our sprits and stregnth by the GRACE OF GOD. Keep us in your prayers.
