15

Today is Hannah's 15th birthday.

It was a "splurge and throw out the gluten free/dairy free rules for the day" day.
so...
she began with a birthday donut for breakfast.
Because we weren't sure which one she would choose, we put candles on all of them.  :-)
Can you guess which one she chose?

{A maple bar with bacon pieces all over the top.}

After breakfast she opened gifts.

"I have the best brother ever!"

 {Celtic Thunder CD's}

"Ok, I have another best brother ever!"
 {Anastasia soundtrack}

{The colors of Ireland - green, white, orange.}

{A beautiful scarf from sweet Aunt Barbara}

{A thoughtful gift from a far-away friend.}

{Hair stuff from Grandma.}

After she opened gifts, Eric kidnapped her and took her on an errand
to pick up the gift that we gave her...
her very own new sewing machine.

For her birthday dinner, she chose beef stew with Hawaiian sweet bread rolls.  {YUM}

I found this "Chocolate Tuxedo Cake" at Costco.  It was decadent with layers of chocolate cake, chocolate mousse, cheesecake, chocolate cake and chocolate fudge.  It was a chocolate lover's delight to be sure.

Here are a few things that you may or may not know about Hannah

She dreams of one day living in Ireland.
She loves Celtic music.
She is fun-loving and witty.
She is gentle and patient.
Her favorite color is purple.
Her favorite sweet treat is an Oreo cookie {so thankful Trader Joe's makes a really good gf version.}

Eric and I are so blessed to call her our daughter.  Thank you, Lord, for our sweet Hannah. Please continue to mold her and make her a young woman who loves you, serves you, and glorifies you.

Happy Birthday, Hannah.  We love you.

  1. Aw, Happy Birthday Dearest Hannah!!!! It looks like your day was full of fun! As for the gifts - they're all wonderful! I have to admit.. the smug look that Matt's wearing when you're opening his gift (or what I'm assuming is his) is hilarious!! Ah! And the sewing machine, how exciting is that!!!

    I can't wait to hear all about it tomorrow.. and maybe you'll wear some of your gifts!
